Here’s a little plug for my workshop this coming Sunday, January 26th from 1:30-4:30pm.
The workshop is called The Five Bodies, and the purpose is to explore the five bodies, or koshas, as they are called. In the yoga tradition, the animate form of a being is made of upadis, or vessels, and each vessel is constructed of sheaths, or layers. Each sheath, or kosha as it is called in Sanskrit, is made of different substance, and as such, it requires it’s own unique regimen of nourishment, maintenance and cleansing.
The five koshas are: 1. Annamaya Kosha (the food, or physical body) 2. Pranamaya Kosha (the energy body) 3. Manomaya Kosha (the mental body) 4. Vignanamaya Kosha (the intellectual body) 5. Anandamaya Kosha (the bliss body)
The workshop will explore each Kosha in depth in terms of nourishment, maintenance ands cleansing, and as such, the workshop will include a rigorous asana practice, pranayama, meditation, scriptural study and chanting.
There will be time for questions and reflection.
