'Soma' refers to the body, as distinct from the mind or psyche. Somatic therapy uses the body to access healing, rather than it coming from the mind and rationale. Sessions include building awareness about how emotions feel, where beliefs come from, understanding one's unique nervous system and how to regulate it, with integral bodywork using neuro-affective touch and craniosacral techniques to balance over-stimulated or fatigued systems.
