Booking Open: April 10, Yoga on the Farm

Updated: Mar 18, 2022

There is a saying: when one door closes, another opens. The past few years have felt like a revolving turntable of portals. Nonetheless, now it's a window that has opened, and I'm very happy to announce my first in-person workshop in a very long time.

Please join me in this informal, joyful way of reuniting in the name of yoga and being together in the early spring in the countryside. The space is on a working farm in Puttenham, Surrey, in a large outbuilding that has been lovingly restored for events.

One of the key themes we will reflect on is the two forces that every human has within: Will and Yield. Will is what propels us into action, yield is what enables us to surrender. These themes are repeated again and again in the yogic philosophical texts and in life. The two elements dance together in a continual dialogue, sometimes in tension, other times in harmony; for these are the unifying factors in the balance of being present, in the state of yoga.

April 10th will begin with tea/coffee/fruit and reuniting, followed by a morning yoga workshop, with the option to stay for lunch and an afternoon walk.

The rough agenda for the day will be:

-9:15-10 arrival (tea and fruit available)

-10-12:30 yoga workshop : chanting, pranayama, a workshop-style practice

-12:45-2 lunch (0ptional)

-2-3:30 walk (optional)

You can choose to book only the workshop at 35£ , or the workshop together with lunch and a walk for 55£ .

About the yoga:

This will be a 'Jivamukti'-based workshop, with plenty of options for prop-usage (chairs available). My classes are generally slow but challenging, with a focus on intentionality, skillful action and mental presence.

About the food:

I will be preparing vegan, organic food that we'll either eat together at my house (a few minutes from the farm) or at the farm itself. There are a range of wonderful walks right outside my doorstep.

Please read this information as it pertains to Covid:

- A lateral flow test on the morning of the workshop is mandatory (I can provide if needed); if you test positive you will be reimbursed for your late cancellation.

- Lunch will potentially be at my house, a 5 minute drive from the workshop location

-Pickup/drop off from the train station from Farnham can be arranged for anyone coming in from the train (Waterloo - Farnham is 57 minutes) at a nominal extra cost (5-7 pounds) depending on how many can share.

(please note, once you have booked, you will be sent an invoice based on your preference to stay for the workshop only or for the workshop and lunch/walk. Please pay the invoice within 24 hours to hold your space)
